Should I shop around for real estate agents?

Everybody shops around. You should. It's wise.

The above pictured scenario can bring out some pretty extreme feelings: fear, confusion, betrayal.

'Why is my client talking with another realtor?!'

The great thing about years of experience, industry awards, and a stellar reputation is the sense of peace that comes with it. It doesn't produce anxiety; rather it provides the freedom to trust, and just be cool and relaxed. If you ever did see your client talking with another service provider, your thoughts turn instead to: maybe they know eachother, maybe they go to the same church, or maybe they play golf.
When your business practices are beyond reproach, above board and combined with a sense of integrity and self respect, it affects all aspects of what you do, and it leaves no room for 'skeletons in the closet' or cut corners which provide reasons for insecurities and client dissatisfaction. You're not worried that those you've worked so hard to serve are going to 'jump ship'.

Bitterness, anxiety and social fear are things we could definately use less of these days, and the great thing is we can do things about it, even in business. The great Peter Marshall, Chaplain to the US Senate (born 1902, served in the 30's/40's) once said:

'May we think of freedom, not as the ability to do as we please, but as the opportunity to do what is right.'

You'll be amazed at the peace it brings.
