Curtis and Michele start this episode with a Hot Topic that should be on every home-owners radar: The New Speculation & Vacancy Tax!  This is something that the large majority of home-owners will not have to pay, but the BC government is requiring everyone on title to declare. Bringing insight into this new tax along with many other topics related to being a Notary Public is Grant Sauer from Sauer Notary Public with offices in Walnut Grove, Langley and Vancouver. The three discuss concerns and details about this tax along with noting that this is separate from the earlier imposed Empty Home Tax for Vancouver.

Grant also exposes some commonly held myths about what Notaries can and cannot do including whether they can give legal advice and the issue of going to court. Notaries also help with situations around having a Power of Attorney and getting your will made. You will hear all this along with finding out what sets Grant apart and some background as to his experience and how that helps him as a Notary!

To top off this episode in classic Cummins Real Estate Show fashion, we enjoy a song written and performed by Richard Cummins about being a Notary!
