My adventures through Real Estate and Life June 2020
July 1, 2020 | Posted by: Michele Cummins
This month started off hopeful and it ended hopeful. I'm SO excited about July!! I can't even tell you. So many birthdays and usually the weather is fantastic. I like going out on our Jet boat and I love canoeing and just enjoying my surroundings. Also, I turn (?) you'll have to read last month's blog to know my age ;-) and we celebrate Cummins Real Estate Group with our annual CREG outing and this year we're going on a Brewery tour!!! We will end it at our lodge with an overnighter going into August where the next morning I will sit down to write the next blog. So stay tuned....but until then...
Here's a photo from our last year's annual event, the Winery tour!
Currently, I'm writing you today on this 1st of July CANADA DAY!!!!! It's raining. No, it's POURING! Wet, wet, wet. On rainy days it's hard to have the energy or umph to want to do much of anything but living in BC you have to find your own energy in order to not fall into the depths of dark, gloomy days. Don't get me wrong, I love the rain for the green lushness it gives us but don't like it for the dreary mood and low energy we end up with due to it. A good source of water, vit's and exercise is a must to feel excited about everything life has to offer when living here especially. And nutrition...I'm sitting here eating leftovers from last night's dinner Chef Richard ;-) made. Rice, veggies and kebobs that wonderful clients gave me the other day! Yum, Yum.
Today's celebrations were going to be held at my sister and brother-in-law in Maple Ridge but due to the bad weather, it was called off. So instead, I have more time to write this blog, get tomorrow's full day prepared, get back to all the phone calls I'm getting about my listings and get a good workout in.
OH MY GOSH - I just interrupted my blog writing just now because I literally JUST HEARD Richard's new single play on the radio!!!! I'm listening to Country 107.1 FM while writing my blog - OH MY GOSH...I caught it on my iPhone video...
So, this year Canada celebrations start off with Richard's newest single called 'Carry On Canada'
The true music video is below.... (be sure to like it and comment :-)
But I actually was first to release it on my Real Estate Radio show on Country 107.1 FM (click to hear all episodes!)
Here's my whole 22-minute show where I sneak peeked his song in... Be sure to like it and throw me a comment ;-)
And thank you to MP Brad Vis for sharing it on social media!
To listen to my past shows (85 episodes long) CLICK HERE or download on Itunes or Spotify or any other Podcast player if you prefer, but they are all available on my new YOUTUBE Channel here too! (be sure to SUBSCRIBE ;-)
So reflecting on this last month...with all the riots, killing, stealing, blaming, assuming, attacking, the kettle calling the kettle black and uncertainty happening, there's a lot of sadness and selfishness in the world right now. Seems like more than ever before. We are seeing each other (human to human) as a threat instead of with love, empathy, respect and understanding. This is a sad state of the world. More than sad, it's disgusting. The world has lost discipline, the world has lost responsibility, the world has lost its hope and the world has lost LOVE. How did we allow this to happen?
But we are to blame. We are responsible. We are the ones who will, do and can make a difference. And we have to, we have no other choice. So how do we make a difference? How do we be the difference? I believe it starts with respecting life, respecting all humans, and respecting that we all have a choice, but not respecting evil, selfishness, unkindness, thoughtlessness, impatience, and all that evil is. If we all started every morning we open our eyes with thankfulness and gratefulness, I believe we would all live much better lives, positive lives and we would in turn be happier and more blessed.
I'm grateful for OPPORTUNITY!
Looking out every day for ways to help others and bless others and do something more than what I did yesterday. Making myself better, every day.
I'm grateful for LIFE!
I want to make the most of my life and I'm happy to report I've been really good about drinking water and getting into my home gym. I am now 166 lbs so I have lost some weight since last month's blog. Albeit, not that much, but 4 lbs is 4 lbs and I feel great! Richard says its muscle...nice guy...
LOVE - PASSION - CONSISTENCY - Keys to a good life I would say.
I'm grateful for PEOPLE!
All the new contacts I've received in my life this past month. It's about People. It's not about the titles of what we do but about connecting, helping, loving and caring about people.
My words of advice this month: DON'T EVER GIVE UP! Give it your all. The moment you feel like giving up, it's the 11'th hour and if you would have only kept on going you would have had a breakthrough so DON'T EVER GIVE UP!
Dedicate ALL YOU DO to God and you will work hard and have breakthroughs and be amazing.
Words out of my written diary: God's timing is perfect, Don't be impatient. Pray without ceasing. Be prepared. Trust. Be Patient. Be ready.
1. You have a gift only you can give
2. Someone has a need, help.
3. Joy in the journey. Your unique gift + the world's needs - collide!
4. Journey of giving. Your gift will break you but make you.
Give and it will be given to you: Grace, forgiveness, love and more.
Sharing some of my personal goals to get done this month would be getting my clothes out of the moving boxes I still have them in from moving almost 3 years ago! Those who know me know that I'm not a procrastinator but for some reason, my closet has been always last on my 'to-do list' but I really have to buckle down and get err done.
The other thing I really want to see done is the setting up of my library. My loft is going to be the location of my library and I can't wait to sit on a new chair up there with a book, a great atmosphere, and soft music on like Kenny G (????????) Don't judge, I love him! Good bathtub music....and whisky with a cube of ice and just soak in what I read. So this will be my accountability for next month's blog I better have those two things done!
Five steps to your goals coming true:
1. Be specific (exact things you want to see, have, create, do)
2. Believe (so you take action)
3. Write down your goals and review them (daily/weekly/annual/5 yrs/10 yrs, etc)
4. Have deadlines (when you will get each task/step done by)
5. Identify Obstacles (what's holding you back? Attack it!. Have discipline)
Goals that I've had for this Summer that is happening:
1. Get General Lee prepped and ready for Summer cruising (He's in the shop right now!)
2. Get our Supernatural car done up (Baby is in the shop right now!)
3. Get the Jet boat prepped and ready for Summer cruising. She's in the shop right now too ;-) Good thing too because last year we had a pack rat store tons of nuts in the engine and this year something went that needed to be replaced or we would have been stuck out on the river with a dead engine!!! Always wise to have a once-over before the season...sure glad we did!
4. Get our Mission property fixed up and prepped for either selling or renting out (I want to rent it out, Richard wants to sell so we'll see who wins ;-)
5. Get Knight Rider (KITT) fixed so we can enjoy this Summer as well! (haven't pulled him out of the garage yet but the goal is before the end of August)
Personal goals for July:
1. Get our tree house rebuilt after the fire
2. Finish getting our deck repaired and get our post and beam restained to keep it well
3. Get my closet done
4. Get my library done
By writing down your goals and reviewing them, it helps keep you on track, focused and accountable!

Focused, hard work pays off. Remember that it takes 66 days to form a new habit and success is the habits of the things you do on a daily basis. It's not the once in a while things you do, it's the daily doings that bring success and sees your goals and dreams come true. Keep it up!
I hope my blog speaks my truth, shares insight into my brain and life and gives you hope and encouragement in yours.
